Many of you are probably aware of this already – a horrific tragedy this week involving an outdoor birthday, a bounce house, and some strong winds. What happened was a shock:
Taylor Seymour, a resident of the apartment building where the accident occurred and sister of the injured girl, said the wind picked the structure up and spun it around as if it was in a small tornado. The children were thrown out at about 15 to 20 feet, and the toy kept rising. Other witnesses told reporters the house reached 50 feet.
Anyone who has ever seen these inflatable play structures tilt and groan in the wind has likely had a premonition of just such an event. Statistics cited in the Los Angeles Times report that bounce houses are responsible for dozens of injuries every day—although in fairness, none has ever been quite this dramatic.
We are proud to place a strong personal premium on your child’s safety at all of our indoor play spaces. This summer, if you’re hosting a birthday party or just want to escape the sun and wind, come to Giggles N’ Hugs family restaurants for some cool fun any time of day.
